So I think restraining orders can still exist, but in rarer instances (when reconciliation is clearly impossible and when there is a genuine threat to one of the people involved in the situation), on a case-by-case basis (I know at least one or two cases where it would be needed), and the prosecutors have too much power. The tough on crime obsession doesn't reduce crime (I did take a crim class last year). We just need a less sexist society (when there are images of naked women on a truck in Las Vegas, then there is still a problem), and not everyone is capable of living in a couple (one partner can dominate the other, and the family can be complacent about this). I haven't been to New Hampshire yet, but from my experiences in at least 7 States (plus DC), I think the government should invest in infrastructure (which hasn't been done since Eisenhower). I have a question. Does New Hampshire have public transportation? The corporate tax should be eliminated (in addition to making the government deal with health care through a not-for-profit and competitive system so that companies can invest money in making products and not be burdened by health care costs), and there should be a national retail sales tax to fight our culture of public AND private debt.
